Rhetoric Audit uses a credit system so you only pay for what you use — there is no subscription and no recurring charge. Every scan you run against a new URL costs one credit. Re-analyzing a URL you have already scanned is always free. Go to Dashboard → Billing to check your balance, buy credits, and view payment history.

Free tiers

You do not need to pay anything to get started.
TierDaily limitNotes
Anonymous (no account)10 scans / dayNo login required. Limit resets at midnight UTC.
Free signed-in50 scans / dayRequires a free account. Limit resets at midnight UTC.
New account bonus10 bonus creditsCredited once on signup, on top of the daily free limit.
Anonymous daily limits reset at midnight UTC regardless of your local timezone. Credits you purchase never expire, but free daily allowances do not roll over — unused free scans from one day do not carry forward to the next.

Cache hits are always free

When you submit a URL that Rhetoric Audit has already analyzed, the system returns the cached result at zero credit cost. This applies to all users — free, paid, and anonymous. Only first-time scans of a URL consume a credit.

Credit packs

Once you exhaust your free allowance, purchased credits unlock unlimited scanning (subject to fair-use limits). Credits are bought in one-time packs through Stripe — no subscription, no auto-renewal.

Intelligence Briefs

An Intelligence Brief is a cross-platform narrative analysis that goes beyond a single article — it pulls signals from news, social media, and the open web to map how a story is being framed across sources. Each Intelligence Brief costs 2 credits.

Purchasing credits

1

Open Billing

Go to Dashboard → Billing or visit rhetoricaudit.com/dashboard/billing. Your current credit balance is shown at the top of the page.
2

Choose a pack

Select the Starter, Analyst, or Investigator pack under Top Up Credits.
3

Complete checkout

Click Buy $X.XX. You are redirected to a Stripe-hosted checkout page. Enter your card details and confirm the payment.
4

Credits added instantly

After a successful payment, Stripe redirects you back to the Billing page and your new credits appear in your balance immediately.
If you close the browser tab before completing checkout, no charge is made. Stripe notifies you with a “Payment cancelled — no charge was made” message when you return to the Billing page.

Viewing payment history

Scroll down to the Payment History table on the Billing page. Each row shows the date, the number of credits granted, the amount charged, and the payment status (PAID, FAILED, or PENDING). Stripe issues a receipt to your email address for every successful payment.

Low credit alerts

Rhetoric Audit sends you an email when your credit balance drops to 3 or fewer credits. To turn this alert on or off:
  1. Go to Dashboard → Settings.
  2. Under Email Notifications, toggle Low credits alert on or off.
  3. Click Save Changes.
You can also enable a Scan completion notification that emails you a summary after each analysis finishes. Both settings are off by default except for low-credit alerts, which are on by default.
The dashboard header shows a red warning badge on the Credits panel whenever your balance reaches 3 or below. You can top up directly from there without navigating to the Billing page.
